[Intro: Kinetik] Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present to you A collaboration of epic proportions It's Kinetik, Kuroisoul, Hip Hop Is Forever Bass & Format [Verse 1: Kinetik] See I'm a product of the struggle reminiscent of a different time Forget the glamour and glitz, this is the grit and grime Prose and flows are like picture and sign A true novelist addiction, this was written with big in mind From boy to man, from feather to quill In me the heart of a writer is forever instilled And with a bleeding heart, I decorate the canvas Believe it's art that's why they venerate the stanzas None equal my tongue is regal But still I sing with the slaves cause I'm one among the people So as I examine the human condition I'm under the tree of knowledge and I'm feasting on the fruit of wisdom I'm a purveyor of the pen And when the lines are designed, you'll be rating them a ten It's from the heart even when I say it with offence Kinetik and you spell it with a K at the end [Hook: Kinetik] We're coming live and direct from across the miles The newest tag team coming with a proper style You might've heard it like this, but not in a while Kuroisoul and Kinetik, we're chemistry perfected We're coming live and direct from across the miles The newest tag team coming with a proper style You might've heard it like this, but not in a while Kuroisoul and Kinetik, we're chemistry perfected [Verse 2: Kinetik] He's like the offspring of Preem and a descendant of Pete Somewhere in California just perfecting a beat Making sure the music is rooted and kept in the street And with just a kick and a snare, you'll be listening clear Right on the spot just watch for the slice and a chop Igniting the block but never try and slight him for props Cause the beats are retarded but not for the weak hearted And as soon as he sparks it, you'll be nodding your head And some'll do their best but he's the meaning of super fresh A sick mix of Dilla, RZA and Nujabes And yes, he'll be sat at the feet of legends Deep in their presence, releasing a sound that'll reach heaven So as he keeps pressing and teaching lessons On how to inveigle an ear in need of refreshing That's when your head and neck will start to respond Kuroisoul, no words, still his heart is in the song [Hook]

[Verse 1: Kinetik] See every time I open my eyes, usually it's gloomy weather Today there's no clouds and the sky is blue as ever I'm looking out the window, the scene is green and gritty A little wind is blowing but I'm in love with the city I get the evil eyes when I realise that it's time to rise But this morning I feel revitalised Cause for the past week, I've been grinding the axe But now it's Saturday so I can recline and relax And now I'm tuning in to Smackdown I got some instrumentals bumping in the background Pick out a couple of beats that I can vibe to The early morning boom bap puts me in the right mood And then I have a shower and then I'm getting dressed Fresh creps match the shirt and my jeans are freshly pressed The next step is a cappuccino from Starbucks I grab my phone and iPod, they're both already charged up [Hook: Tone Richardson] I woke up feeling so good Feeling so good Nice to know that my bills are paid And I still got the rest of the day Said it feels fine, so good Feeling so good Walking down the street smiling All my troubles are gone away And it feels so good [Verse 2: Kinetik] So it's another Sunday so peaceful and tranquil As if the world itself is at a stand still I grab my pad and pen because I got to write some more But my head is banging like the music from the night before I let the track play and after 30 minutes I had my raps straight, the hook and verse were finished Then I recited them to make sure the flow was tight It's like I had them rhymes stored in my brain overnight I'm feeling kinda lazy I'm back at work tomorrow but no it doesn't phase me I'm lounging in my boxers and listening to Gospel With the smell of my breakfast tickling my nostrils I got the ackee and the salt fish And no I never have a small dish That's how I got a spring in my steps And now my appetite is satisfied and everything is bless [Hook]

[Intro: Kinetik & Tone Richardson] Yup, I'm out in California My first time on the West Coast I'm having such a good time, I really don't wanna leave I'm loving it here [I ain't ready to leave] I love it so much, I might start crip walking and just throwing up a w or something [Hook: Kinetik & Tone Richardson] Another night in Cali-forn-i-a I'm getting twisted like oh my days I love it here and I really wanna stay Another night in California Another night in Cali-forn-i-a I'm getting twisted like oh my days I love it here and I really wanna stay Another night in California [Verse 1: Kinetik] Saturday night and I'm loosening up [I'm doing my little two step in front of the mirror you know] I'm in the house with the booze in my cup [A yo, Jeremy pour me another J.D. bruv] Cars outside hear the boom of the funk [You know who that is, that's Masato] And my clothes match so I'm never losing my touch [Cause you know we black folk have to co-ordinate man] Crazy now we're headed down Saratoga Tonight's the night I wish I had a chauffeur In the club everybody wants to have us over Sitting at the table or laxed on the sofa We shoulda got a round of claps It's all love and we must've had a thousand chats And even more heads are coming from around the back It's Hey Mr. D.J. I like the sound of that [Hook] [Verse 2: Kinetik] Bright lights got me thinking I'm in showbiz [I can't lie, I feel like a super star] Nice night but what's happening at Blowfish [I heard about Blowfish back in London] I'm getting funny looks so I suppose it's [Cah dem know sey me look like a true bad bwoy] The Sprerry's on my feet looking sweet getting noticed [I'm gonna need that sponsorship money though] Wavy, that's how I felt from the A.M.F. It's adios, I'm ghost, I should be laid to rest Rusty nails are the most pain Sipping liquid cocaine got me twisted with no shame Folks came just to party hard We're getting drunk and it's looking like we can't be charged I'm paralytic off the liquor and my back is to the wall Posture lean but you know I'm having a ball [Bridge: Kinetik & Tone Richardson] Give me one more night, one more day One more night in California Okay, so it's 3 A.M. and the night is still young But before we go home We're gonna bring back a classic Shout out to Zhan・ Hey Mr. D.J., hey Mr. D.J, hey [Second Hook: Tone Richardson] Everybody Move your body now do it Here is something That's gonna make you move and groove Hey D.J. keep playing that song All night On and on and on [One more time Tone] Everybody Move your body now do it Here is something That's gonna make you move and groove Hey D.J. keep playing that song [keep playing] All night [all night] On and on and on [On and on and on and on]

Dead Rappers 03:45
[Intro: Kinetik] All I can see are dead rappers Every studio session is a funeral because when I'm done in the booth I be stepping over dead bodies That's why there's a funny smell in here Okay! [Scratched Intro] Prepare for this rap killing Prepare for this rap killing Prepare for this rap killing Prepare for this rap killing [Verse 1: Kinetik] See I'm one of the sickest spitting with no inhibition From the sound of the bell, I'm out to leave a clown on the shelf Even the ref is getting pounded as well Put it on You Tube and tally up an extra hundred thousand in sales Zoomorphically I'm thought to be enormously beast like I'm accordingly gory when I'm killing your cheap hype So each fight is deep like a flurry of knee strikes I heat mics without a piece of respite So if the fee's right, I'll leave your jaw stuck Scraping on the floor like hwoar cause you're awestruck Stiff in your disbelief, flows and hooks coming from a golden notebook And no I never rip the sheets So when this hits the streets, keep your fists discreet Or duck when I'm brandishing my poisonous darts Even mannequins will know their only choice is depart So do the same cause your lame and your moist in the heart [Scratched Hook] I can write it or recite it off the top of the dome Here's how it goes I am a genius, I mean this Say what you say And throw down some ice for the nicest emcee [Verse 2: Kinetik] I got an amazing cadence laced with abrasive statements Making patrons place it on Satan's play list Face it, I made this for the greatest debaters And you were never rated or adjacent when the pressure's on My echelon suggests my lexicon is extra strong Blessing the present though certain legends and vets are gone I'm not a human cause I'm more like Megatron And my team of Decepticons are getting lean off the energon I'm like an 80s cartoon when I start flowing I go in, you're thinking maybe it's my last tune But less chit chatter, still I'm a cocky dude That's blessed with the it factor, I'm the rap Bobby Roode In the lab with a pad looking like some Bible scriptures Ink hitting the page and spreading like viral sickness So in your final minutes all you're gonna see is me With a big gold belt with no l's or title switches [Scratched Hook & Outro]

What I See 05:16
[Verse: Kinetik] I can see a single mother walking up a hill with shopping bags Struggling as if her legs are gonna give out But still she has to make it up the hill and make it home Cause if she don't there'll be no food in her kid's mouth I see a father crying over his first born Not cause he was born but because he met an early death Brutally murdered and no he wasn't perfect But he was Black so the police say he deserved it I see a little girl looking like a princess And everywhere she goes she's the object of interest Beautiful but hidden deep beneath is sadness She thinks her skin is too dark and makes her unattractive I see a little boy staring out his window Wishing for the depiction of the man that he should call his Daddy And sadly some'll fill the role but his joy ends Every time Mummy goes and gets another boyfriend I see a soldier coming home from war Happy to be alive cause life he thought it would end In a year he was homeless with no job Feeling abandoned by the country that he fought to defend Then I see a nurse getting ready for work But on this particular morning she was mourning Cause her religion is important So she's torn from not wanting to perform an abortion I see a footballer training in the gym After being on the bench for a year But in his first game back he felt a snap in his femur So now he's thinking it means the end of his career I see an executive sat up in her office After losing her profits and everything she wished for Stressed depressed cause life was a mess Then she jumped from the 25th floor And that's what I see
6.
[Verse 1: Kinetik] It's funny how the truest love can always breach the heart I'm pining for you and we've only spent a week apart I'm staring at your photos like they were a piece of art Getting emotional but nah I need to keep it smart Missing the simple things like going for coffee or dinner And feeling proud because I know that I got me a winner And sometimes I drop the ball like a sloppy beginner Then you're in the baddest mood but I love your attitude And every morning when I wake up I'm reading your texts From the night before but it's more than me fiending for sex And even in a different time zone Whether you're on Skype or Facetime you leave me with my mind blown I love your dress sense and I'm always left impressed I stare even when you wear some leggings and a vest And when I look at you it's quite surreal You're way above the rest and that's even when they're wearing high heels My harshest critic and my biggest fan It's never been hard to admit it but you've made me a different man Teaching me new things as well as expanding my thoughts You put some colour in my life just like the Vans I bought So when I'm sitting next to you at Sunday service Or on the bench at Queen's Park where we had our first kiss That's when I'm certain it痴 for real and I'm most content Loving with hope again and now you're like my closest friend [Scratched/Sung Hook: Tone Richardson] There ain't nothing in this world that can take your place Love, love People don't understand, they can't understand How I feel about you That's when my heart stops One love People don't understand, they can't understand How I feel about you [Verse 2: Kuroisoul] Me and you, night and day, one and the same We became each other's favorite I swear the love was sacred I'm amazed with the way we clicked so very quick You can tell we were joined at the very hip So many were quick to make their remarks About the fact that I'm a Black and you're an Asian At times it was blatant, at times it was hidden We knew that they were talking but we could never listen They say I put you on a pedestal Some of your friends said that my intentions were only sexual A few of my friends did it discreet They figured Asian women are timid and weak When your Mom figured out we decided to stay together She cut off your bills didn't care whatsoever But you stuck with me for over two years Stood up to your parents stood up to your peers And then they forced you to move to Hong Kong A love story gone wrong cause now you long gone Even though it's not easy maybe we can get past this Sitting in my car where we shared our last kiss That's when I knew it was for real and I'm most content Missing you with hope again cause you're like my closest friend Cause you're like my closest friend I told you I'd make you a song [Scratched/Sung Hook]

[Intro: Kinetik] Shout out to all the boom bap babies worldwide This is time machine music We're gonna take you back to a time when Hip Hop was great When the laces were fat and when the boom box was king [Scratched Hook] Let's take it back Back in the days Let's take it back Way, way back Let's take it back Boom bap, original rap Let's take it back This is true Hip Hop in the purest form [Verse 1: Kinetik] I reminisce on when I heard Kris Kross in 9-2 No, I couldn't switch off they made me wanna rhyme too Jotting my lines down thinking I'd get shine too But I was getting laughed at like nobody'll sign you Then rappers started getting thuggish for rep Me I was doing nothing except just dubbing cassettes And my T.D.K.'s were always coming correct Every one of my mates had tapes to bump in the deck And knock for weeks, whether they were swaps or keeps When they pressed play they wouldn't even stop to speak And I was copping every copy of The Source The 5 mics and quotables we had to discuss In between the freestyles at the back of the bus When a rap track was stacked with scratches and cuts When our rewind buttons wasn't gathering dust Cause from the music to the fashion we would do it with a passion It was Hip Hop [Scratched Hook] [Verse 2: Kinetik] We've come a long way from Sedgwick and Cedar The boom and the bap made me a head and a believer Different place in time, London U.K. But true say I was living with a New York state of mind Even the youngsters wanted to get mad props That's why we started rocking baggy jeans and flat tops Chatting in slang and fresh was our favourite one We spoke it like a native tongue but we were young And still we learned about the struggles of grown ups After we started rolling with a couple of bone thugs Going for car rides without a sense of direction But we'd always end up on the far side Playing dominoes and listening to ghetto jams Sipping on ice tea mixed with the gin and juice Innocent youth who didn't know the business We were good kids but we had a soul for mischief It was Hip Hop [Scratched Hook]

[Hook: Joanne Francis] We were the best of friends since we were knee high And everyone around us could always see why And any time I'd call he'd always reply He'll be my best friend until the end We were the best of friends since we were knee high And everyone around us could always see why And any time I'd call he'd always reply He'll be my best friend until the end [Verse 1: Kinetik] Back in the day when we were young'uns We used to kick it like it was nothing Inseparable rebels and always up to something But always on the same level and we would never have a run in Considered family, we might as well had been Had different names but to us that was irrelevant Cause we were tight and never one without the other In any given moment I considered you my brother And every summer we were riding our bikes And going missing so people had to find us at night And when our other friends would have a beef You and I were always clicking, politicking over a bag of sweets And watching cartoons, playing computer games Acting a fool and calling each other stupid names We had a friendship and the love was always demonstrated The realest ever and we could never be separated [Hook] [Verse 2: Kinetik] But then we grew into adults Started our families and looking out for kids and the wives I got a job, you moved away We grew apart but I guess that we were living our lives And after building up the trust for years And being closer than the musketeers We started looking at each other weird Nothing particular, there was no back and forth Just one of those things and life took its natural course And I imagined us just being old with beards Sat in the garden with the both of us in folding chairs Having a laugh chatting and cracking the coldest beers Sharing our stories and looking back on the golden years So one day I thought I'd give him a call But his wife would answer the phone and to me that was unusual That's when she told me that my friend had died a week before And when I called she was planning his funeral Keep your friends close Keep it real and keep in touch [Hook] [Outro: Kinetik & Joanne Francis] Since we were knee high Be my best friend [Knee high] You'll always Since we were knee high [You know we came up from like back in the day] Be my best friend You'll always be [Since we knee high literally] Since we were knee high Be my best friend You'll always [Primary school, secondary school, college] Since we were knee high Anytime, yeah [He's not here anymore but that's still my boy] You'll be my best friend

[Intro: Kinetik] This song was written in the spirit of my grandparents John Matthew Watt, who passed away on the 21st of July 1993 And Delzeta Watt, who passed away on the 3rd of January 2007 I miss them dearly [Verse 1: Kinetik] So easily we're getting caught up in the extra living We keep our house and our car in the best condition And for the next position We get rich or die trying irrespective of the repetition But the funniest thing in this world where money is king We're the slaves to the ways that the currency brings And cause of that very lust we keep our treasuries stuffed So we can live heavy and plush but it can never be enough It's that tragic And it seems that we care less about our characters and even more about our tax brackets And now our basic needs are like make believe cause we're fixated by the face of greed But after the last breath when we're stiff as a board When we're in the past tense and then we're shipped to the morgue Know whatever we make here, we can't take it there And we'll be empty handed when we go and visit the Lord [Hook: Kinetik] So what will they say when you close your eyes And what will they say when your life goes by And what will they say when your time is through And when it's over, what will they say about you What will they say when you close your eyes And what will they say when your life goes by And what will they say when your time is through And when it's over, what will they say about you [Verse 2: Kinetik] Way before the u-stream and the computer screens I was renowned as a person in pursuit of dreams My lofty aspirations became an afterthought I stopped reaching for the sky as if my arms were short And it's not as if I didn't try Cause even though my feet were on the ground, my head was in the sky Just merely drifting, bitter and pessimistic And looking at the world as an enemy Then one day I took a trip to the cemetery I felt a mixture of peace with serenity I read a tombstone that sticks in my memory It said this person had left with a legacy And I was frozen, truly overcome with emotion Cause one day I know that I'll return to the essence So as my minutes turn into seconds, I question Will you laugh or cry when you remember me? [Hook] [Outro: Ileen Mitchell] The hour of departure has arrived and we go our separate ways; I to die and you to live. These are the words of Socrates and it demonstrates that life and death is but a meeting place. It is a place of passing on the baton from one to another. Therefore, it is of vast importance that the lessons we learn from living is safely transported into the hearts and minds of those who yet remain. One will need to fight for what they need; but not by using man-made arsenals, but through the education of the mind and the re-positioning of our thought processes, by bringing it into line with that which was purposed for us before our birth. We are here to fulfill our full potential and not take it with us to the graveyard. In so doing, the graveyard will become richer for it and lies poorer for us not delivering that which we were sent here to do. It is said by keen thinkers like Dr. Maya Angelou that we are standing on the shoulders of those who have gone this way before. So as we are now in a place of transition; supported by the past and reaching up to the future, continue to excel, continue to do right, continue to achieve, continue to invest in those looking up to you, because one day, they too will be standing on your shoulders.

[Verse 1: Kinetik] I started rapping as a kid, I was a hit in school Fast forward I’m the object of ridicule And some will reckon that my prospects are minuscule Forever slow and they’re wishing that I never blow So I try and plan for the future Starving artist, I’m branded a loser So I can either keep it real or eat a meal For now I’m snacking on cans of tuna Then I remember the days of my youth My friends at the parties and raising the roof I was hustling pennies just to make it to the booth And lay a couple of verses, some would say it was worthless Under the surface my focus and drive Said to open my eyes and to go for the prize Before I turn ghost in the sky So whenever you hear this flow just know that hope is alive [Hook: Tone Richardson] We’re gonna make it somehow, cause you know we’re gonna make it You know we’re gonna make it someday We’re gonna make it somehow, cause you know we’re gonna make it You know we’re gonna make it someday [Verse 2: Kinetik] Another month with another bank statement I’m in the red with no money in my savings Not to mention I don’t have a pension I’m at the show getting no’s at the entrance Am I an underachiever I guess so when I’m looking at the funds on my Visa And some folk will only praise you when you’re hot Not when you’re scraping the pot and tryna make it to the top And even though I’ve never slept round a gutter I still feel as though I let down my mother I could’ve been a doctor or lawyer or such Accumulating six figures and raking in big business But then again my focus and drive Said to open my eyes and to go for the prize Before I turn ghost in the sky So whenever you hear this flow just know that hope is alive [Hook] [Bridge: Tone Richardson & Joanne Francis] We're gonna make it some how Some way, some how We're gonna make it some how Hey, we're gonna make it [Outro: Tone Richardson] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [Oh, we're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [Hey, we're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [Oh, we're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [Hey, we're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [We're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [We're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [I feel it in my bones] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [Hey, we're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [We're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [I believe] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it [We're gonna make it] Gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it, gonna make it
